Adrianus and Theresia first settled with their three children, in Shannon River, WA. Adrianus, nicknamed John, initially worked for the Forestry Department, duties included lookout Tower Man (Burnside Tower) and sign-writing and later owned the Blue Diamond Painting Company. The family welcomed the birth of thier fourth child Marloes and proudly became Australian Citizens on Australia Day 1970.
