Patricia was Born in Calcutta, India on 17-05-1935. Father Charles Stagg died when she was about 2yrs old, she doesn't remember him. Mother Kathleen Valderemao was a British army nurse in India. Patricia and her brother Brian Stagg arrived in Fremantle following their mothers death, being sponsored to Australia by Kathleen's brother, Rudy Everett who farmed near Merridin. At age 18 Patricia started nursing at Kellerberrin Hospital. Brian built himself a career as a plumber.
