Dad arrived in Australia a non swimmer at age 11 but learnt to swim in the river near Rivervale. Went on to win the swim through Perth to Fremantle. Became President of the Floreat Life Saving Club when it was known as North City. Rescued quite a few people. Was an excellent husband and a great dad. 4 children - 3 sons and 1 daughter.
