Ernest & May Southall, aged 28 years were lured by the promise of owning land in Australia through the Group Settlement Scheme. They left Wolverhampton, UK with daughters, Patricia (4yrs) & Rhoda Jean (17mths) sailing from London on the Demosthenes. After a 6 week voyage around Africa, they arrived in Albany on 14th January 1924. They then travelled west via Denmark to Group 105, Kent River, cleared dense virgin forest & established a dairy farm in the area now known as Kentdale.
