Giovanni Sonego arrived on board the Moncalieri in 1926 at Adelaide. Giovanni married Iolanda Deluca in 1949 in Italy. In 1950 Giovanni & Iolanda sailed from Fremantle to Adelaide aboard the Toscana. They had two children, Marco & Paula. In 1951 Iolanda pregnant, they moved by train to Jardee, Western Australia.
