Came to Australia for health reasons. Trained as a nurse at the Finnerty Street Asylum, Fremantle. Married F.J. Fowler 1894 - they became the first matron & Supt (1897) of the State Industrial School in Barker Road, Subiaco. The school became the Museum of KEMH. She and husband eventually settled in Cottesloe and raised seven children.
