Alex, a blacksmith by trade, served in the Boer War with the Gordon Highlander Regiment. Farmed in Bilbarin until 1924 then set up a local blacksmith shop & store. Retired to Albany. Married Elizabeth (Bessie) Walker on 21/3/1918. No children from marriage.
