Wife Annie Allan Balfour arrived Albany 1926. They had to marry immediately (he from Perth) at registry for decency's sake on 5th May (wedding dress unpacked in hold). Moved to Byford & built own home. He worked on Churchman's Brook Dam during the Depression & as a brickmaker at Byford State Works (fancy brick maker). Retired from Armadale Brickworks in approx 1965. Annie died 19/08/1968 (67 yrs old).
