Read their story

Joe arrived at Fremantle 1927 (approx), and worked as a sleeper cutter. In 1937 obtained the Certificate of Naturalisation and later enlisted in the Citizens Military Forces (WWII) and stationed in Worwick, Queenland. Joe returned to his birthplace, Sapljane in 1948 to see his mother and siblings, returning to WA in 1952. Joe worked on various farms as a manager/labourer in the South West and enjoyed a beer and singing with friends or a yarn or two. Joe remained a bachelor all his life.
