After a six week journey from the united kingdom, Thomas & Alice Sillis arrived in Fremantle with four year old daughter Vera. Daughters Joyce, Betty & Alice ( Marj) were born later. Betty sadly died in 1930 at 15 months. The family settled in a WW1 group settlement scheme near Margaret River.
