Married Minnie Masel 5th February 1913. Founder with Minnie in 1913 Barney Silberts Shoe Stores. The corner of High & Market Streets, Fremantle was named in honour of him. Member Italian Club, Fremantle; Fremantle Bowling Club. In 1936 won the Fremantle and Districts Garden Competition for 55 Ellen Street, Fremantle, the house he built in 1920. Sons Keith (b 1917) and Eric (b 1922).
