Sadie travelled to Australia as a single woman, met Ron Shires in 1951and married in 1953 (one son, Daryl, born 1963). They bought a bush block in Ardross in 1955 and built their home. Widowed in 2002, she still lives in Ardross and continues to work looking after others.
