Engineer & architect, built a horse mill at Fremantle in 1830/1 in which he ground the colony's first wheat, while hand-writing an early newspaper. He established the 'Old Mill' at South Perth in 1835. Architect of Samson's Fremantle office & their Perth residence. Married Jessica Cameron in 1841.

His birth date is 1801 and he died in 11th June 1842.

This page shows WK Shenton born in 1842, but that is wrong. That was the year of his death (by drowning). He was born in 1803.

He was drowned on 1.6.1842 when the Devonshire sank near Garden Island en route to Bunbury. He owned large areas of land in and near Bunbury and intended to settle in Australind as Government auctioneer and trader. He had been married only one year when this happened. The property "Shenton Ridge" on Coalfields Highway Roelands is named after him and was granted to him in 1830.
