Purchase of two dress shops in the early 1950's. "Carolina" in Fremantle. "Annemarie" in Nedlands. After selling both shops, continued operating "Carolina Drapers" from home, personally delivering goods to his customers by car. His wife Anne was also involved in the business during the latter years as book keeper and drive until their retirement in 1985.
