Charles Ernest Scholefield was the younger son of two boys to Charles Scholefield & Mary Jane (nee Whitton) both of Yorkshire, UK. Charles (senior) was a renown Master Railway Engineer constructing railways throughout Britain and the World. Mary Jane was the daughter of Marmaduke Whitton, a Master Builder. Dora (nee Ashton) also of East Ridings was one of three daughters to Inn owners, Thomas & Beatrice Ashton.
