Headed to Kalgoorlie goldfields as a wood carter. Spent time in Victoria, then returned to WA before sending for his future wife, Angela from Italy. Worked at mills at Mornington, Hoffman & Nanga before purchasing a farm at Cookernup in 1931. The farm is still owned by his descendants.
