Herbert and Elsie arrived in Fremantle from England with 6 children. I look on my family as pioneers. When they arrived here there was no work, so my dad had to go down the forest down Balynup. And they had no housing so they found a deserted old farm house in Wattleup, kicked the pigs out and lived there till they could afford a better place. Life was hard. My mother sufered....
