My grandfather was offered immigration by Britain at the end of WWII, when he was liberated from a German POW Camp. It is thought he was expecting to land in Canada! He worked in Perth for a couple of years, sending for his wife & son who arrived aboard the OCEANIA from Italy 15/11/1953.
