Married to Dorothy Godfrey in 1959. He lived in Roleystone for over 30yrs. A keen member of the Volunteer Fire Brigade for 18yrs, in 1994 Governor Michael Jeffery presented him with The National Medal (Fire Fighting). An avid caravaner he and his wife enjoyed numerous holidays throughout Australia.
