Jakica arrived in Australia at age 13, with her mother and brother. Her father and older brother had arrived a few years earlier and they all settled in Spearwood. Jakica attended the old Spearwood Primary School for 1½ yrs and then worked at a local store. At 19 she married Ivan Bavich and had 2 children. Currently residing in Spearwood.
