Florence was engaged to James Haggarty for 3 years before coming to West Australia to marry. They took up virgin bush at a small community Jilbadji, 14 miles SE of Burracoppin. Florence and James met again where the ship arrived at Fremantle then travelled by train to Burracoppin and settled at Jilbadji.
