  • William and Susan's eldest son Edward Alexander Rummer was a stockman on a small sheep station in the Kimberleys in 1889. Whilst one of the owners Nicholls was in Melbourne the other owner Poulton had gone into Derby for supplies. When Poulton returned he found Alex Rummer a Chinaman cook had been speared to death. The murder was carried out by a white native by the name of Beeleechee.
