Verners & Emilija Rove fled Latvia from Russian advances & were refugees in various German camps from 1944-49. A baby son, Gunars, died of diptheria in Waren/Muritz. A daughter, Eva, born in Frille in1946. Maija born in Dwellingup in 1950. Verners was contracted to work for the Government Railways for 2 years and upon arrival was sent to Five Mile Camp in Dwellingup. In 1951, they purchased bushland in Bentley, where, with the held of other migrant friends and no previous experience, they physically built their own asbestos tiled home. Veners continued to work for the WAGR in various blue collar positions. Both daughters graduated with Bachelor of Arts Degrees. Eva worked as a highschool teacher and Maija, as a producer of educational programmes for television. they are survived by their two daughters and two grandchildren, Eva's son and daughter.
