Michele's belief that Australia was a land of plenty eventually came true for him and his descendants. Marriage to Marta from Molfetta brought five children and happiness. A founding member of the Fremantle Fishermans Co-operative, his wartime internment and Marta's tragic death brought hardship. Michele married Rosa and had another three children.
