Great grandson of Thomas Roe - Emma Merrett of Gloucester (married 1833, moved to Swansea 1839). Mother Rachel Bowen spoke Welsh. Used his mind and hands to make or repair furnishings, fittings, equipment, engines, and fences. Bought old Walebing Post Office in 1962 and restored this 1896 building.
