Served in the Italian Army as mechanic. Shack's Autos offered him a position as chauffeur and mechanic at 5 Pounds a week, but he declined the offer, as he needed work that offered accommodation and food. Worked as timber cutter. Sent for his wife Luigia 1933. They settled in Wanneroo and had 6 children.
