  • Dear Sir,
I am one of the migrants who travelled on the "SKAUBRYN", on that voyage and my family and I settled in Fremantle Western
Australia when I was a little girl. My" uncle",and family made up my life as a German migrant in Australia. We can relate
to hard work and a life full of difficulties
and trying times. My "Uncle", was the back
bone of my life and upbringing in Austrlia.
We can relate to the winning of the American
Cup with its "Winged Keel".I later became a pilot having to overcome many obsticles.
I thank Ludwig and his wife Alida and also
his parents who later joined us for the many
contributions in my life which made me a "stoic", person. I look forward to returning to Western Australia with great
warmth after the tragic death of my parents
in a somewhat hostile environment, our plans
to return to Germany never having been fulfilled.
    Yours faithfully,
    Irmela Seidel.
