Leaving Holland with 7 children in tow and coming to Fremantle 1954 with 100º F temp was certainly a shock. We lived in Northam Holding camp for 18 months while Martin worked in Alcoa, then moved to Clackline, back to Northam, and last to Perth. To help populate Australia they had 27 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
