Born into family with sailing ships, Zacharias travelled afar. Resided in China until Boxer Rebellion erupted. Settled WA, labouring, later opening cafes (Northam, Bunbury, Albany, Perenjori), sweetshop (Pier St), coffee imports (Wellington Street). Naturalized 1912. Married Pheobe Flood 1915. George Alexander born 1916. Grandchildren: Rosalie (1942), Jennifer (1952) and Phillip (1953).
