Worked in the mines and later bought land in the Swan Valley and planted grape vines, one of the first vineyards planted. One of his four sons still works it.

  • I am the youngest of Ivan's children.One of six.Julia,Diana,Ivan,Matthew,Joseph and me. The property is still in possession of three of Ivan's grand daughters.Julia was born in 1926 and me(Dan)in 1933.Ivan and Matt are no longer with us.Our poor mum had six children in the space of seven years and all attended Upper Swan school in the same year,the year I started there.Like most people in the Swan Valley in that era we had a hard life but none of us would change it for the world.Julia and I still live in the Swan Valley.Dan Leon Rakich.Known to most as Len. 6th Februay 2013.
