Catherine Quinn born in Meath, Baalbriggen County, Ireland, came on a 'bride ship'. She worked as a maidservant for Mrs Chidlow after being selected from among the women at the depot in Newcastle (Toodyay). Catherine married James Butterly in Northam on 16th Febuary 1855.
