Ewart & Winifred arrived as fully paid passengers (112.15 pounds sterling P/port No. 274823) under the Group Settlement Scheme 18. Introductory letter presented to Sir James Mitchell, Premier of WA who welcomed the family to WA and wished all well. Travelled by horse and dray to the South Westm where they were expected to put their own “humpy” together with whatever was available. After two years of hardship, the family returned to Perth where Dennison (now deceased) and later on, Lewis, were born.
