Charles was a builder in Lancashire. Doris operated her own hairdressing business. Inclement weather caused many delays of building homes. Finally after 99 days and nights of rain, frustration prompted a visit to Australia House in London and within weeks, notice came for the family to sail to Perth. A decision never regretted.
