On arrival, Elizabeth Porter acquired a position with the Claude de Bernales family (Mining magnate) at Cottesloe. Married Percy Chick on June 12 1937. Lived on the farm 36 miles east of Narembeen, which Percy owned & cleared. They had 3 children - Elizabeth, Glenice and Gilbert.
