The steamship 'Diogenes' docked at Albany April 1924. George at 14 went farming with his parents until he got his own farm. He married Elsie (Biddy) Calton in 1932 & they had a family of five. He was on the 114 Group Settlement. Because of fire, he moved moved to Kentdale Group. George was foreman of War Land Settlement Group at Rock Gully with his father, Albert working under him.
