After leaving school worked on family farm at South Coogee. Then studied to be a nurse and became Matron at Heathcote hospital.

R.M.S. (ROYAL MAIL STEAMER) ORAMA 1928. This ship was being used by the British during World War II as a troop transport and was sunk by the Italian Navy in the Mediteranian.
