Married Maria Kotsoglou in Port Pirie, SA in 1929 then moved to Perth in 1934 with family (2 girls & 1 boy). Joined Army WWII. Served with 5th Garrison Battalion, Rottnest Island. Had total of 9 children (3 girls & 6 boys). Pioneered establishment of one of the first food supermarkets known as Andrew's Supermarket, Canning Highway, South Perth. As at 2007 there are five generations of family in Perth.

Andrew Emanuel Petrelis assisted on the family farm. Immediately prior to migrating to Australia served in the Greek Army 1918 - 1922. He saw service in the Greco-Turkish war 1920-1922.
