Left Southampton in June & only had one week's notice that we were sailing. My mother, who worked for London Transport, had to work until the day before we sailed, leaving little time to pack up & sell off items we couldn't take. Also, apparently, no-one on board was inoculated due to lack of time. I had my 8th birthday in Port Said & my photo in the Daily Mirror in Sydney when we arrived.
