Gilbert, a sea captain and Jessie, a former nurse, with sons, Roy, Gilbert, Alastair and Donald farmed on Group 61 Yelverton for three years. Gilbert Senior was then made foreman of Group 76 Nillup. Later the family moved to the Armadale area. They have many descendants living Western Australia.
