Francesca arrived in Australia in 1954 with her mother, Maria, and her younger brother, Osvaldo, to join her father Nazzereno and her older brother Antonio. Francesa first worked at Plaistowe factory in West Perth. Francesca married Cosimo Comito in 1958 and had three children, Robert, Marco and Debra.
