Read their story

Helen (aged 4 1/2) on arrival at Fremantle was thought to have small pox. All her clothes and toys were burnt. She was lowered off the ship in a basket to a small boat and rowed to Woodmans Point (Quarantine Station) where it was decided days later that in fact she only had chicken pox.
