In 1939 he married Marjory Edmondson in St George's Cathedral Perth, Archbishop Le Franc officiating. Jim and Jo had five children, Philippa, James, John, Tim and Elizabeth, living in Mt Lawley for 28 years before James retited as Archdeacon.
