Wasyl was in the Polish Army. Irena was taken to Germany at fifteen years of age. They both worked in a village named Scheplitze, Germany, near the city of Strendal. Wasyl worked for a farmer named Herps. Irene worked in a restaurant owned by the Fierber family.
