In 1948 Tanasz was sent from Greece to Hungary as a child war refugee. In 1955 he arrived in Australia & was reunited with his family. He worked on his parent's tobacco farm at West Palgarup Rd, Manjimup. On 2nd October 1960, he married Elefteria Kristianopoulos & together they had two children, George & Helen.
