Had 3 brothers & 1 sister, who cared for them when mother died. Trained as Signalman. Promised work at Eucla if he immigrated. Later spent approx. 2 years in Coolgardie Goldfields prior to returning to Fremantle at beginning of WWI. Became an Electrician with the then SEC until retirment.
