William arrrived Albany nine months after father, with mother Sophia and four siblings. Father worked on the overland telegraph line to Eucla, then took up farming at King River. William left school at 13 yrs went digging poatoes, then joined army & served in Middle East WWII. Married Edith Ould in 1944 & had three daughters. After was a mill worker & 22 yrs at West Aust Railways.
