Austria's Thermobau Gesellschaft exported about 1000 prefabricated weatherboard houses to WA, and were erected by Sandwell & Wood for the then State Housing Commission. The Austrian company sent the necessary tradesmen for a 2 years contract. We were about 240 young men. Most of us settled here.
