Edward, Annie and 4 young daughters arrived in Fremantle on their way to Melbourne, but after talking to a Methodist minister saying the weather in Melbourne is no better than England, decided to make Fremantle their home.

  • My mother was the 7th daughter born to Edward and Annie Neesham. She certainly showed the stoic determination of her parents, as she raised her five children as a single mum.
