Read their story

Jaroslaw and Lubow were typical post World War II refugees. They fled their war torn Ukraine in 1945 and after 4 years in displaced person (DP) Camps in Germany, they arrived in Fremantle in May 1949. They worked very hard to establish the Ukrainian Community in WA and to achieve a better way of life for their children Marta, Jurij, Andrij and Brendan.

  • I was at high school with Marta in Northam. I believe as an adult she became a nun and I wonder if anyone knows if she is alive and where she now is as I would like to contact her.
