Sponsored by relatives I'd never met. Came to take up a staff nurse position at Royal Perth Hospital. Worked there for 28 years, over three decades. Retired as nurse manager, personnel in 1994. Aawarded national Gilchrist Scholarship in 1973 by Florence Nightingale Committee to study nursing administration overseas.
